What was I supposed to accomplish and how? In this lesson I was to design a lesson plan that incorporates a movie-making, student assignment. The short movie must be in compliance with copyright laws and fair use guidelines. I was to also generate a guideline document, on copyright & fair use issues, for student use.
What did I learn (growth/progress)? I learned an enormous amount in the process of completing this lesson. I learned how to locate & legally use creative resources, how to make a movie in iMovie, and even how to use our family's digital camera. This was a huge learning experience for me.
What should I have done differently? I should have paid closer attention to my YouTube setting (I had it set to "private"). Also, I didn't read the lesson instructions well enough and inadvertently missed the student guideline document on first pass.
Why is this artifact important to my targeted career? Knowing how this process works, I can now assign movie-making to my students and also create movies for their learning enjoyment. This will be useful in any subject area.
